Richland Academy and Bob Cox and Friends “2nd Wed. Live” May 13th,
7 – 9 PM
Our
regularly featured 2nd Wednesday Live will be held
Wednesday, May 13th at the Richland Academy. The
performance starts a 7:00 PM and runs until 9:00 PM.
This month we will again be featuring tunes
from the American songbook and some rhythm and blues and pop
standards. Joining me will be our regulars, Dane Noe on keyboard,
Henry Van Buren on saxophone, Damian Boyd on trombone, Dan Conwell
on upright bass, and Jim Smith on drums. We hope you can join us.
During our 2nd Wed. April
performance we were joined by two surprise guests. Dr. Tom Croghan
joined us for two selections playing piano. Randie Kilgore also
joined us for three selections playing harmonica. My sincere thanks
go out to both of these guests. I’ve had many enjoyable moments in
the past playing music with both of these gentlemen.
As I mentioned last month, we’ve had some
requests for some tunes that feature the guitar styles of Chet
Atkins, Merle Travis and Maybelle Carter. So, we will be including
some of those selections as well. As always we will be playing
selections featuring all our fellow musicians.
You may now B.Y.O.B. to the
performance. We offer water, soda and snacks for a small fee. So,

Dr. Tom Croghan - Piano 
Randie “Buzz’ Kilgore – Bass Guitar and
Harmonica
I’ve had the
pleasure of playing a new venue for the past nine weeks. The Cabin
Restaurant & Bar has hosted Bob Cox & Friends on Friday nights from
7:00 – 9:30 PM. The group consists of Dane Noe, keyboard, Dan
Conwell, upright bass, Jim Smith, drums and me on guitar. We have
also featured trombonist Damian Boyd of the Richland Academy in
Mansfield, Ohio and guitarist Andy Cary of Wooster.
We play tunes from
the American songbook as well as some pop and rhythm and blues
standards. I believe the atmosphere is a perfect match for the
musical mood we try to create. I invite you to join us this Friday,
May 15thth for some great food and good music.
Reservations are a good idea if you want to sit near the music. The
Cabin Restaurant is located on Hwy 603, four miles southeast of U.
S. Route 30 and I-71 near Mifflin, Ohio. They can be reached at

1st Friday with The Caffiends at the

The second performance of the 1st
Friday with The Caffiends series was held on Friday, May 1st.
The event was attended by well over eighty people. The
Caffiends played classic rock and roll from 7 – 9 PM. We had
a fifty-fifty drawing for cash and a raffle for a Caffiends
T-shirt. Like our 2nd Wed. performances we offer
packaged snacks, soda and water. You can also B. Y. O. B. to
the performance.
Our next scheduled 1st
Friday with The Caffiends would fall on Friday, July 3rd.
We will probably reschedule that performance due to the 4th
of July holiday weekend. I will keep you updated in the
interim. Most likely, we will do the 2nd Friday
in July.
